You want to prepare your body in the days before your flight. Do this by adjusting your internal clock to coincide with the time zone of the area you are visiting.
-
Step 2
Consume healthier foods in the days prior to your flight. This mean eating less fat, salt, caffeine, and sugars. Compensate it by eating more fruits and vegetables. Those who ingest higher carb meals have a more difficult time sleeping where ever they are staying at.
-
Step 3
If at all possible when traveling try flying West. When traveling West your body has an easier time adjusting to an extended day than a shortening day.
-
Step 4
When flying have a comfortable dress code. Don't try and where tight clothing. You will be sitting for a long period of time and the tight clothing will cause less circulation of blood through your body.
-
Step 5
Days before and during your flight avoid consuming alcohol or caffeine. It dehydrates you and affects your natural sleeping habits.
-
Step 6
Also consider wearing sunglasses a few hours before and after your flight. Studies have shown that by altering light patterns you can adjust your internal clock to reflect the current time. So if you are traveling overnight flight this will help you tremendously.

Step 7
DO NOT EVER NAP when you arrive at your destination. Instead get as much sunlight a you can and adjust your body to the current time zone.
