Save money this holiday season! Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) is one of the best days to shop all year due to all the special sales retailers run. Black Friday falls at the end of many retailer's fiscal years, so discounts are often deep because retailers are looking to meet financial plans. Learn how to find Black Friday deals ahead of time so you can save money on your holiday shopping.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  1. Step 1

    Search Online

A simple web search of "Black Friday" will often yield leaks of Black Friday deals. Many retailers intentionally leak these deals in anticipation of high Black Friday sales, so what you see will often be highly reliable. There are also a few "official" Black Friday websites that are sure to have legitimate offerings.

  2. Step 2

    Become a Follower

Join a retailer's fan page on their social networking sites in order to learn about Black Friday deals early. Many retailers will send out notification via their social networking sites a few days prior to Black Friday about these special sales. If they don't, check these pages as soon as 12:00 a.m. hits on Black Friday as savvy retailers will not miss this opportunity to advertise during such an important time of the year.

  3. Step 3

    Get on the Email List

After joining retailer's social networking sites, join retailer's email lists by signing up at their websites. Email customers often receive the best sale notifications not only for Black Friday, but throughout the year. Many retailers will also give you an introductory offer for signing up for email, so you'll get extra savings to use on Black Friday (often 10 or 20% off).

  4. Step 4

    Ask

Simply ask associates of your favorite retail establishment what deals they will be running on Black Friday. Many retailers will be more than happy to share this information in hopes of increasing customer loyalty, and therefore, sales.

Tips & Warnings
  • Many retailers run even better deals on Cyber Monday (the Monday after Thanksgiving). Any of the tips above can be applied to Cyber Monday, as well.

on 11/24/2009 Black Friday is only a few days away. I personally haven't seen any deals to get excited about, however.
