You can save a lot of money this Christmas if you pay attention to your spending habits. One great way to do this is to find inexpensive, and sometimes free, gifts to put in your family’s stockings. Here’s how to find ways to save on candy, small gifts and other stocking stuffers.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create a stocking stuffer box well before Christmas. Ant cute or useful small items you collect throughout the year goes in this box that you can keep hidden in the back of your closet until Christmas rolls around. Add any small and cheap items you run across that you think will make a nice addition to your stocking stuffer stash.

  2. Step 2

Shop after-Christmas sales for seasonal items at a fraction of the price. Stick to non-perishable items. Keep these in your stocking stuffer box for next year.

  3. Step 3

Finish with home made goodies. This is a great idea , especially if you have small kids. Usually the first thing kids run to Christmas morning is their stockings, so have a few healthy home made treats they can eat right away. Sliced apples wrapped in cellophane and tied with a ribbon, or mini-sized muffins are good options.
