How to Remove Soap Stains From Marble

Marble is a beautiful and durable stone that is often used in home construction for countertops, shower stalls, tiles and molding. Marble comes in a wide variety of colors from white to dark shades of blues, greens, browns and blacks. It's important to properly care for and maintain marble to preserve its luster and shine. Soap can build up on the surface of the marble, leaving an unattractive chalky residue. Soap stains can be removed from marble with products that can be purchased from a home improvement or hardware store.

Things You'll Need:

• Soap scum remover (non-acidic)
• Soft cloth

1. Apply a soap scum remover to a soft cloth.

2. Rub the soap scum remover over the soap stains on the marble. Work the remover in a circular motion to allow the solution to penetrate the stain. Allow the remover to sit for three to five minutes.

3. Wipe the soap scum remover along with the soap scum from the wall using a clean soft cloth. Reapply the soap scum remover, allow it to sit, and then wipe it away until all soap scum is removed.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not use abrasive or acidic cleaners or scrubbing pads on marble. This includes Shower Power, Ajax, Comet, Jif and Exit Mould. Use of these cleaners will etch and further stain the marble leaving behind permanent damage.
