Instructions

    • 1

Take a single incense stick in one hand. Be sure to hold the stick at the end that is bare. The opposite end should be coated and pointed toward the ceiling.

    • 2

Stretch your arm out in front of you and ensure that the incense stick is nowhere near your face or hair.

    • 3

Pick up the lighter with the other hand.

    • 4

Move the lighter so that the tip is touching the coated tip of the incense stick.

    • 5

Ignite the lighter and let the flame touch the incense stick until you are sure that the incense stick is lit. This happens when the flame grows taller than the original flame produced by the lighter.

    • 6

Set the lighter down and slowly move the incense stick to the desired holder.

Tips & Warnings

  • Only light one stick at a time. Attempting to light more than one stick at once may cause a fire. If possible, use a candle lighter that ignites by pressing a button. This is much simpler than using a cigarette lighter or a match. If the incense stick does not remain lit, then you may want to find a lighter that produces a larger flame.

  • Only light the incense stick over non-flammable surfaces. Be sure to hold the incense stick at the bottom while lighting to ensure that you do not burn your fingers in the process.
