How to Put Liquid Eyeliner on Lower Lid

Eyeliner accentuates the eyes and can make them appear larger. Eye pencils and cake eyeliners are often used to create a "smoky" eye. Liquid eyeliner is used for a more dramatic effect. Many women opt to line only their top eyelids or to line their bottom lids with pencil liner rather than liquid. Liquid liner is heavy, and many women feel it is too heavy to use on the bottom lid. However, putting liquid eyeliner on the lower lid can create a dramatic effect.

Things You'll Need

• Liquid eyeliner
• Tissue
• Mirror

Instructions

1. Apply eyeshadow and eyeliner to upper eyelids and allow to dry.

2. Steady your hand by touching your finger or hand to your face.

3. Beginning in the outer corner, sweep eyeliner under lashes in smooth, even strokes.

4. Smudge eyeliner with the tip of your finger for a softer look, if desired.

5. Clean any unwanted smudges with the corner of a damp tissue.

Tips & Warnings

• Stretching the lid or holding it taut while applying eyeliner will make application easier, but may result in a wider line than desired. Apply eyeliner to only half the lower lid to make eyes appear larger. Smudge eyeliner at the outer corner for a smoky, dramatic appearance.

• Do not apply eyeliner above the lower lashes. as this can result in eye irritation and eye infection.
