How to Roll Table Napkins
Rolling up silverware inside napkins and placing them at your table can add style and flair to your meal or special event. Rolled-up napkins can also be an easy way to transport napkins and silverware outside for a barbecue or picnic and can be done using paper or cloth napkins. You can also make them in advance and store them in your dining room cabinet or kitchen in case you have unexpected company or a last-minute outdoor meal. Things You'll Need
- Iron and ironing board
- Cloth napkin
- Tabletop or other flat surface
- Silverware, if you plan to insert it into the napkin

Lay napkin flat on your ironing board, and iron on medium-high heat until it is flat and smooth.

Transfer the napkin to your tabletop or flat surface.

Fold the napkin in half diagonally, so it is in the shape of a large triangle.

Move the napkin so that the long side is facing you, and the corner at the top of the triangle is pointing away from you.

Place silverware on the center of the napkin,if you using it. It should lay along the bottom edge of the long side of the napkin so it is right in front of you. If you are not inserting the silverware you will still follow all of the following steps to create your rolled napkins.

Fold the left corner of the triangle inward until it touches the midpoint of the napkin along the bottom edge. Do not crease the side of the napkin

Repeat Step 6, this time with the right corner of the triangle. The napkin should now resemble a face-down envelope with the flap open.

Roll the napkin tightly upward in the direction of the triangle's top point.

Turn the napkin over and smooth the triangle's top point so it rests on top of the napkin roll.
