How to Make a Front Page for a Resume
Effective job hunting starts with an updated and customized resume. Each job opportunity you apply for should have a separate customized resume based on the specific requirements of the position. The first thing that the prospective employer will see is the front page of your resume, so developing a professional and concise front page is crucial to your next career move.

1
Choose a layout for the front page. Normally this will consist of a header filled with your direct contact information (name, email, address and phone number). Make this section very easy to follow by separating each piece of information with a space and by setting it off with a header box (this should be an option in your word processing software under "Tools").
-
2
Make the next section of your resume titled "Specific Qualifications." Set each qualification off with a bullet point and tailor this section to the job for which you are applying.

3
Build the rest of your resume as you normally would: Education in one section, Work Experience in one section, and other job qualifications or programs after that. Use bullet points where appropriate to make navigating your front page easier.
-
4
Attempt to fit everything that you really want the employer to see on the front page because she may never turn the page if you have a multiple page resume. Make sure the information that will get you the job is up front on the top half of the page, first and foremost.

Tips & Warnings
Use the same font and style throughout the document to show consistency. Also, stick to printing your resume on plain white or creme-colored paper because other colors tend to look tacky.
