How to Put a Video on a Blank CD
The process of putting files such as a video onto a blank CD is called "burning." Transferring videos to a blank CD can be a great way to back up important videos if you're afraid of losing them on your computer. You can also transfer the CD easily to another computer to watch the video there.

1
Grab a program that you can use for free. This is called freeware. Examples include Express Burn and Nero (see Resources). Click on the hyperlink for the one you want. This will take you to the program page.
-
2
Click on "Download Now." A window will pop up that will allow you to confirm the download.
-
-
3
Open the CD program's installation file after it finishes by double-clicking on it. Click on the "Next" button when you're done with each screen in the installation until it loads onto your computer.
-
4
Insert your blank CD. Take note of whether it's a CD-R or a CD-RW. It should say on the packaging. You can burn an CD-RW more than once, but you can only record to a CD-R one time, so you'll have to be sure you have everything you want on it first.
-
5
Open the burner program. Click on "Make Data Disc" or something similar. Make sure the "CD" option is chosen. Click on "Add File" or something similar and add your video to the process. If you have a CD-R, you may want to put more than one video on there so you don't waste space. The bar should show you how much space you have left on the disc.

6
Close your other programs and click "Burn" to put your video on the CD.
