Instructions

    • 1

Dampen the corner of a clean cloth with undiluted rubbing alcohol. If the fabric is white, use a white cloth to avoid colors seeping into each other. Rub at the tape adhesive stain until it is removed.

    • 2

Apply nail polish remover or lacquer thinner--both contain acetone--to the stain in the same way as the rubbing alcohol.

    • 3

Soak the corner of a cloth in lighter fluid and apply in the same way as the rubbing alcohol. These chemicals all break down the bond the adhesive forms with fabric.

    • 4

Hand wash the fabric after the stain is removed to get rid of the smells caused by the cleaning products. Fill a sink or bathtub with warm water. Add three to four drops of laundry detergent. Agitate gently with your hands. Rinse with clean warm water. Air dry the garment before returning to use.

Tips & Warnings

  • Spot test any cleaning product on an area of the garment that is not visible to make sure colors will not run or bleed.

  • Always use strong chemicals such as lighter fluid in a well-ventilated area.
