Fill each pot about three fourths with a mixture of equal parts potting soil and compost. Gently stir the compost and soil together once they are in the pot, then jiggle the pot slightly to settle the soil.

2
Add a seedling to each pot. Remove each seedling from the tray and loosen the root ball gently with your fingers. Put the seedling in the pot and cover the roots, but not the stem, with soil. Press lightly with your fingers.

3
Sprinkle about half an inch of compost around the base of each plant. Water each seedling until the soil is moist but not soggy. Wait until the top soil is mostly dry before watering again.

4
Compost once a week until blooming season is over. Then compost once a month, watering afterward to carry nutrients into the soil.
