How to Remove Items From an Address Bar
Address bar items are specific Web URL locations that lead to a website. These items are typed into the search bar by the user to bypass using a search engine to get to a website. They can accumulate causing a long list of addresses to be stored in the search bar, which is why most users eventually opt to remove them. Removing them items can be done quickly within the browser.

Deleting Form Data in Internet Explorer

Open the Control Panel in Microsoft Windows.

Change the Control Panel menu display. Click the "Classic View" display option in the upper left corner of the left pane of the screen.

Double-click the "Internet Options" thumbnail icon image to open the browser settings in a new dialog window.

Click the "Delete" button under the "Browsing History" section in the "Internet Options" pop-up window.

Check the box next to "Form Data" and "Passwords" in the "Delete Browsing History" pop-up window to remove all URL items in the address bar. All address bar items will be removed when the pop-up window closes automatically.

Open the Mozilla Firefox browser through its desktop icon.

Type the first letters of the location bar item you want to delete. The browser will generate address bar item matches based on the letters you enter.

Scroll down the list of URL address bar items, by pressing the down arrow to the right of the location bar.

Press the "DEL (delete)" key on your computer's keyboard once you have located the item you want to remove from the address bar list.

Tips & Warnings
In more recent versions of Internet Explorer, address bar entries are classified as form data. This is something you should be aware of so you'll know exactly what items should be deleted from the browser. If you are operating on an earlier edition of the Internet Explorer browser, please refer to the Resources listed below for instruction and assistance with removing address bar items.
In Firefox, do not use the mouse to navigate through the address bar items, because you will have to click on the item to highlight it. Clicking on the URL will only redirect the browser to that particular site.
