How to Take a Pregnancy Test With Depo Provera
Depo Provera is a form of birth control that injects synthetic progesterone into the body to stop ovulation and thin the lining of the uterus to make it difficult, albeit possible, for sperm to reach the egg. Depo Provera is believed to be 99.7 percent effective in preventing pregnancy, however pregnancies while on Depo Provera have been known to occur. Taking a home pregnancy test while on Depo Provera is very similar to taking a test while on any other form of birth control.

1
Urinate into a cup when you first wake up in the morning. It does not have to be a great amount of urine but should fill the cup about 3 to 5 inches.
-
2
Set the urine aside and open the home pregnancy test. Dip the stick into the cup of urine and hold it for 10 seconds. Set the stick aside and wait five minutes for the results to be ready.

3
Read the instruction booklet while you wait for the results. The majority of pregnancy tests will provide a test line and a results line. The test line will remain solid. The results window will offer a line to indicate pregnancy or will remain a solid white to indicate a negative result.
-
4
Make an appointment with an OB/GYN if the test shows positive to confirm the pregnancy test results.
-
5
If the results are negative, wait two weeks and test again. A second negative reading should be all the assurance necessary for you to assume you are not pregnant.
