How to Change Sprint Numbers

Sprint PCS is one of the nation's largest providers of wireless phone service. If you currently have a Sprint phone and contract, you may find yourself at some point with the need to change your phone number. This may be due to moving to a different city and wanting the new area code, or perhaps someone has your current number and you'd like to change that. Sprint is capable of changing your number without too much difficulty.

Instructions

1. Go to your local Sprint store. The easiest way may be to return to the store where you purchased the phone (if you are still in the same area).

2. Tell the customer representative you want to change your phone number. He will inform you this is possible, but it will cost a convenience fee. The fee can either be paid in person, or put onto your next monthly statement.

3. Select an available number from the numbers the Sprint representative gives you. These are most likely going to be in the local area code. If you want to select a different area code, you can.

4. Give your current phone to the Sprint agent. He will remove the SIM card and replace it with a new one; however they are going to transfer your current contacts and other information onto the new card.

5. Power down your cell phone an leave it off for about 30 minutes. After the half hour, power the phone back up. You should see the new number on your phone when it boots up. If not, turn the phone off for another half hour or so before powering it back on.
