How to Give Kaopectate to Horses
When a horse develops diarrhea, it can be an extremely unpleasant experience for both horse and owner. In order to reduce the discomfort and mess of diarrhea, many horse breeders choose to use Kaopectate on an afflicted horse. Kaopectate is an effective way to end horse diarrhea and restore the horse's digestive system to its normal functioning.

Fill a catheter-tip irrigation syringe with 60 cubic centimeters of Kaopectate.

Open the horse's mouth and inject the Kaopectate directly into the mouth. Try to spray as much of it as possible onto the back of the horse's tongue.

Grasp the horse's jaw and elevate its head.

Keep the horse's head elevated until it swallows the Kaopectate.

Repeat this two times a day for up to three days.

Many times, foals will develop diarrhea that will simply go away after a few days. It is not always necessary to treat it with medicine.
Kaopectate is a medicine designed to be used by humans. Though many people have used it on horses with success, it is still best to consult a veterinarian before giving any medicine to your horse.
