How to Use Essential Oils on Dry Patches on the Face Cheeks
You need to take special care when using essential oils (EO) on your skin, especially on the sensitive skin on your face. Essential oils are the concentrated oils of the plants they are derived from and can be dangerous if they are not treated or prepared properly. You can, however, use essential oils to treat dry skin on your face by using ones that are known specifically to help dry skin and work in place of natural oils that are missing. Mix some lavender essential oil with a carrier oil such as jojoba or coconut oil. Jojoba oils is healing and it is close in comparison to human sebum, which dry skin is lacking. Lavender EO is one of the gentlest essential oils and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Add some of the lavender EO with some fragrance free lotion, or lotion that contains lanolin. Lanolin will help hold the oils and moisture to your skin, and it should be fragrance free because fragrances in some lotions will irritate the skin on your face.

Rub the lotion or oil that you have added your lavender EO to on your face cheeks, gently and in a circular motion. Stay out of the "T Zone" on your face--which is your forehead, nose, and chin--especially if you are prone to acne in these areas.
