Instructions

    • 1

Remove any furniture that may be in the way of laying the rug down. For example, you may have a coffee table or a dining table in the area where the rug will be located. Move these items.

    • 2

Clean the floor so that the no-slip floor pad will adhere well. If you are laying the area rug over carpet, then vacuum first. If your floor is hardwood, ceramic tile or stone (or a hard, solid surface of any kind), sweep and mop the floor. It is important that the floor is clean for the floor pad to function properly.

    • 3

Lay the no-slip floor pad down in the same place that the rug will be laid. When purchasing a floor pad, you do not need to get one that is exactly the same size as the rug. It should, however, be no smaller than 12 inches shorter than the length or width of the area rug. For example, if your area rug is 60 inches x 72 inches, the floor pad should be at least 48 inches x 60 inches.

    • 4

Lay the area rug down onto the floor, directly on top of the floor pad. Once the rug is positioned where you want it, vacuum it and replace furniture that is to be located around or on top of the rug.
