Things You'll Need:
- Masking tape
- High temp spray paint
- Several leaves of native species of foliage
- Paper towels
-
Step 1
Insert a wadded paper towel into the barrel of the gun to prevent any paint from entering it. Also use the masking tape to mask any areas of the gun that you do not wish to paint, such as the trigger, ejection port (if a pump shotgun), etc.
-
Step 2
Spray a base coat of your desired color on the gun. Green is often recommended for this as most foliage is green and the leaves that you will use as stencils for the later steps will stand out more if green is utilized as a base coat.
-
Step 3
Let the paint dry for as long as needed.
-
Step 4
Place the leaves on the gun and lightly mist around the perimeter of the leaf with black paint. Rotate the leaves to create a break-up pattern in the camouflage. This will ensure that the pattern is completely random. Let the paint dry before continuing.
-
Step 5
Repeat Step 4 with brown paint. Do this all over the firearm, using different leaves to break the pattern up. Once again, let the paint dry.
-
Step 6
Remove the paper towel once the paint has dried and the job is complete.
