How to Load the String in a Weed Whacker Speed Head

Speed Heads in weed whackers are designed to provide a constant supply of trimmer line to the user with a simple bump of the head on the ground. This save a lot of time when it comes to changing string or fixing snags in the line. Speed Heads often have two cutting strings versus one in traditional heads. This reduces wear on the strings and more powerful cutting abilities. Does this Spark an idea?

Leave six inches of string at the end of your line.

    • 8

Mount or clip the remaining length of trimmer line to the bottom level.

Repeat steps four through six for the bottom line.

    • 10

Leave six inches of line on the opposite side of the top line.

    • 11

Insert the two sections of spare string through the holes in the cover of the Speed Head

    • 12

Clip the cover back on the Speed Head and remount the trimmer head onto the weed whacker.
