How to Make a Workout Chart
One of the best ways to make a workout effective is to develop a routine. Without a routine, it will be difficult to remain consistent. Creating a workout chart is one way to help develop a routine. A workout chart will help you stick to your routine and record your progress. Create your own professional workout chart and improve your workout.

Open Microsoft Excel. If you do not have the spreadsheet software, a 60-day free trial can be downloaded from Microsoft.

Click "Insert" on the top toolbar and select "Insert Header and Footer." Enter the title of your workout chart in the space provided. Click the cell on the second column, first row. Type "Monday" into this cell and click the next blank cell. Continue to enter the remaining days of the week along the first row of the chart.

Write a name of an exercise on the second row, first column. For example, you can enter "Biceps" into the cell. Continue to enter the rest of the exercises in the first column. These can be exercises for the triceps, legs, chest, abdominals and cardio. Type "Jogging" or "Treadmill" into the cell if you do a cardio workout during the week.

Click the "Office" button in the top-left corner of the toolbar and print a copy of your workout chart.

Record the number of reps and the amount of weight you were able to lift for each exercise. Hang the workout chart on your refrigerator or store it in an exercise binder.

Abbreviate the days of the week if you are unable to fit the entire name into the cell.
