How to Use Wooden Skewers

Use wooden skewers for grilling meat or vegetables. The skewers can burn or catch fire if not used properly. Sliding meat and vegetables onto a skewer and serving the food this way makes a kabob. Remove the food from skewers and serve over rice for another dish. Wooden skewers usually are made from bamboo. A pack of 100 bamboo skewers costs about $1.
