How to Make a MySpace Video Auto-Play

MySpace has become a very popular social-networking site. You can use MySpace to connect with friends, meet new people or create your own blog. Make your MySpace page stand out from crowd by adding videos that auto-play. With auto-play enabled, your videos will begin playing automatically when someone views your page without them having to start the video manually.

      Copy the embed code for the video that you wish to add to your MySpace page. To copy the code, highlight the entire text and press "CTRL+C," or right click and select "Copy" from the menu. The embed code for videos will usually be located on the same page as the video and be labeled "Embed".

      Log in to MySpace. Go to your MySpace blog page and click the "Post New Blog" link.

      Create a title for your video by typing in the subject field. Click on the link that says "If you can't input your Blog, click here" after you have made a title for your video. This will prevent your embed code from getting distorted.

      Paste the copied embed code in the body section of the blog. This can be done by pressing "CTRL+V," or by right clicking and selecting "Paste" from the menu. Delete all text found before "<embed>" and after "</embed>". Keep only the code located between these tags.

      Modify the video URL to include the auto-play feature by adding "&autoplay=1" to the end of the URL. The URL will be in quotes and should look something like this: "http://www.video.com/a/12345" Insert "&autoplay=1" after the last character in the URL but before the quotation mark. It should look something like this: "http://www.video.com/a/12345&autoplay=1".

      Post your video by clicking the "Preview & Post" button.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have auto-play enabled on more than one video, they will all play at once. You should disable any older videos before setting up a new video with the auto-play feature. To disable auto-play simple delete "&autoplay=1" from the video URL.
