Step 1
If you are like me, you love Christmas and you want your children to have the great memories like you had growing up. Traditions are what our children remember and they do not have to cost a lot or even anything to be remembered and cherished.

Step 2
Hide the pickle (or ornament of your choice) is a great tradition we share. Each year on Christmas morning the children find the hidden pickle on the Christmas tree. The one who finds it earns an extra "pickle" gift. The gift is generally small in value but great in sentiment. Another holiday tradition is to allow each of your family members to create a special photo page representing the past year. Over time, your photo album will be completed with great memories you can share year after year. At our house, we do a gingerbread house each year and have fun photos to show our enjoyment and laughter.

Step 3
There are so many memories and traditions you can create with your family. What makes any Christmas special is that you celebrate together and make your own personalized traditions. Some other good traditional ideas are setting out milk, cookies and carrots for Santa and his reindeer or simply baking together for the holidays. Whether you make ornaments or play games, year after year, no matter what it is you do, your children will look forward to the tradition.
