Step 1
Curl only with clean lashes. Always curl first, then put mascara on afterwards. Curling with mascara on can make lashes stick to the curler and be pulled out. The best eyelash curl comes from having lots of healthy lashes in tact.
-
Step 2
Look down when curling. Curl your eyelashes as usual, but hold a handheld mirror that allows you to look down instead of straight ahead while curling, so the curler goes right up against the roots of the lash line for a much longer and better eyelash curl.
-
Step 3
Clean the curler regularly. If you engage in eyelash curl regularly, clean the device once a week with mild liquid soap, rinsing and drying thoroughly, then storing in its own clean dry container such as a plastic baggie with a piece of paper towel to absorb any missed traces of moisture. The more lashes you have, the better eyelash curl you’ll get. And mild infections have been reported to make eyelashes fall out sooner than their optimal life span. If you only use your device for eyelash curl occasionally, clean it after each use.

Step 4
Condition with castor oil. Castor oil is an ancient treatment for making lashes grow longer and thicker. Though used for this purpose around the world for centuries, there have been no modern scientific trials yet to test it. But whether lashes will actually grow longer and thicker, or the oil simply conditions the eyelashes to help eliminate breakage, you’ll get better eyelash curl from having healthy, conditioned lashes. Apply organic castor oil with a Q-tip at night after removing make-up and washing your face. Don’t touch the oil at all with your skin so that no germs are introduced to the oil. Remove it thoroughly the next day before curling lashes and applying make-up. Though used safely by many, it’s always wise to check with an eye doctor and dermatologist to make sure this will be safe for you.
