Step 1
Think about what you already have in your home. Do you have boxes of books in your attic, garage, or in closets? Think about what you have and consolidate them in one place so you can assess what you should sell for fast cash.
-
Step 2
Once you have gathered up a collection of books, it is time to start determining what has value on eBay. Search completed listings or use the Hammertap research tool to learn what your books, or sets of books, are worth.
-
Step 3
Vintage children’s books, vintage cook books, current best sellers, diet books, text books, and old reference books are all great sellers. Christian books such as daily prayer books, the Left Behind series, and anything by Max Lucado sell well.
-
Step 4
Pass on the book club editions, those aren’t usually good sellers. Book club editions are usually smaller in size and of lesser quality printing.
-
Step 5
Once you have the cash flowing, you may want to invest in a device that aids in listing the books for sale. This device scans the bar code on the book and uploads a photo, title, and description to eBay, Amazon, or Half.com. Every day can be payday when you sell online.
-
Step 6
See the resources section below for more information on this book listing device, and for resources for online selling.
