How to Make Water Softening Laundry Detergent

Things You'll Need

• Water softener
• Washing soda
• Borax
• Lavender oil
• Bowl

Instructions

1. Pour together equal parts of water softener, borax and washing soda. Stir them altogether in a bowl.

2. Add two tablespoons of the lavender oil and stir all four ingredients together for 2 minutes creating a lovely aroma. You can choose to add more or less lavender oil depending on how strong you want the smell of your laundry detergent to be.

3. Store the water softening laundry detergent in sealed tight plastic container. Keeping it in a tight container will keep the aroma in and keep the detergent fresh for a longer time. Also, be sure not to store the laundry detergent in room temperature climate. Storing the laundry detergent in a place where it is too cold could cause it to freeze.

4. Pour 1/4 cup of your newly created laundry soap in a load of laundry to clean your laundry.
