Finding an internet service provider who will allow you access to a cheap internet connection can be extremely important for families struggling with money, or for young adults who have just moved out of their parents' home/college and need to find ways to cut costs. The good thing is that there are a wide variety of different service providers out there offering internet service, and there are also a number of ways in which you can connect to the web: DSL, cable, dial-up, et cetera, are all options you can consider when looking to get the lowest price on internet access.

If you'd like to learn more about how to get cheap internet connection, read on.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find out which services are available in your area. While highspeed cable internet is usually the preferred and fastest method of internet access, not every area has this service available. Similarly, while you may find DSL prices to be lower than cable, DSL may not be available. In order to be able to find a company offering a cheap internet connection, you'll need to know what services you can and cannot get where you live. Ideally, you'll find you have access to all three.

  2. Step 2

Consider bundling services. Many cable internet providers will allow you to get a lower discount price if you also purchase cable TV and telephone from them. Some DSL providers will also allow you a discount price if you buy a landline telephone service. If you are already planning to get a landline and TV service, then this is one of the best ways to get a cheap internet connection. Similarly, some companies may offer free or discount dial-up service if you get a second phone line installed.

  3. Step 3

Research online to find a website that compares the rates of the different providers in your area. Some people may look over local and small business providers that can offer cheaper rates than the big name internet providers. Also make sure to take a look at the actual websites of your potential internet providers; when looking to get a cheap internet connection, you need to make sure that there are no hidden fees or terms and conditions that could increase the cost of your bill.
