Dermatitis can be a problem on the skin. It itches and can cause your skin to become red and swollen. It can start
when you are a child and continue into adulthood. Here are some ideas on how to seek relief from dermatitis, eczema on
your skin.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First you need to try and determine what is causing your skin to itch. Make sure to check to see if you are allergic to
the soap you are using. Check to make sure you have not been bitten by flees or a tick. You should also check with
your doctor if the rash has been on your skin for a period of time. If you have a rash on the same place you need to find
out what is causing it.You can make a list of skin products, cosmetics, jewelry that come in contact with that area of your
skin. Make sure to check your laundry detergent and fabric softener they sometimes can cause dermatitis.

  2. Step 2

If you have been outdoors you could have come in contact with poison ivy or some kind of airborne allergy. Once you
have a rash you can apply cool compresses to the area to help relieve some of the itching. Take a clean cloth and soak it
in cold water and whole milk. The protein in the milk will relieve itching. Get some calamine lotion and apply it with some
    cotton balls to the area.

  3. Step 3

This will help dry up the rash and start the skin to heal. Try to keep from itching the area this
will only make it worse and you could infect the area. You can also use a non prescription hydrocortisone cream to apply to the area. Make sure to stay away from creams that end in caine. They can cause allergic reactions in some people. You can take a bath with oatmeal or a cup of baking soda added to warm bath water.

  4. Step 4

Another cause that you need to check out is your jewelry. Nickel coated jewelry can cause skin rashes especially when you sweat. When you work outside make sure to wear long pants if you are allergic to poison ivy.
Wear cotton lined gloves which will help keep your hands from sweating. Make sure to rinse your clothes completely before you wear them again. You should wash in warm water not hot and don't use a wash cloth. Make sure to use a moisturizer to keep your skin from becoming to dry this will help from getting dermatitis, eczema on the skin.
