Step 1
For a wonderful Christmas holiday window its easy to decorate with found items or items you can purchase on a budget.
Start with Christmas twinkle lights you can buy at any local store at a budget rate. Line the inner edge of your windows to give focus and effect of the holiday season. -
Step 2
Place small potted evergreen plants along the window sill on the inside of your home. Add a little tinsel to each tree or a few left over ornaments from your last Christmas.
If you need smaller decorations you can create tiny gift packages with a very little bit of Christmas paper and ribbon. Place them in the evergreen plants or around them. -
Step 3
Gather old toys from Christmas past and clean them up nicely. Use small toys such as balls, fast food toys and other small window sill size toys.
Gather a few old dolls and fix up with ribbons in their hair and red robes from just a bit of cloth. Set them up around a small evergreen with the packages to create a family holiday morning. -
Step 4
Christmas ribbon can be used to tie to the end of various toys, pine cones, evergreen and spices. You can even use tea cups and Christmas cookies tied with ribbon. Hang from the window sill surrounded by the lights.
This will bring back childhood memories for family and guest through the holiday season. -
Step 5
Buy red and green tempura paints and paint Christmas flowers and leaves on your window. You can use white paint to paint snow across the bottom and white trees. Dot the white paint on to represent snow falling from the sky.
The tempura paint will wash easily off the window after the holidays and you can plan for next years fun window dressing. -
Step 6
If you need the simplest and least expensive way to decorate your window quickly surround the edge with indoor tiny lights and add a couple of small wrapped gifts.
Tie curtains back with Christmas ribbon and your are finished with a simple, lovely scene of love.
