Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soccer Balls
  • Soccer balls
  1. Step 1

Know where your teammates are behind you before the ball gets to you.

  2. Step 2

Adjust to the height of the ball. The flick tends to be more effective if you head the ball standing upright or by jumping to reach it.

  3. Step 3

Allow the ball to graze off your head.

  4. Step 4

Avoid making too much contact with the ball. Ideally, you want the ball to skim rather than bounce.

  5. Step 5

Turn and face the direction you played the ball. You never know if the ball is going to be knocked right back to you.

Tips & Warnings
  • Timing is essential to performing the flick.
  • Any actual movement of your neck ought to be kept to a minimum when you flick the ball.
  • Flick the ball when you're out of position to make a good header.
  • If you have any condition which would impair or limit your ability to engage in physical activity, please consult a physician before attempting this activity.
