How to Fit a Bra Correctly

There is a reason most women have a favorite bra: finding a comfortably fitting bra can be a difficult task. Department stores often do fittings themselves, but this is an unnecessary step once you learn how to fit a bra on your own. Instead of wasting time and money scouting for the perfect sized and shaped bra, calculate your correct size and confidently pick bras you know will feel and look great.

Things You'll Need

• Non-padded bra
• Measuring tape

Instructions

The Perfect Fit

1. Remove your shirt so that you are in a comfortable and non-padded bra.

2. Wrap a measuring tape around your waist right below your bust and exhale all the air in your lungs. Take the measurement, rounding it to the closest whole number if it is fractional. Add 4 inches to it if it is an even number and 5 inches to it if it is an odd number. This will be the band size of the bra.

3. Relax your arms to the sides of your body and stand tall. Measure across the widest part of your breasts over the bra. Round this number to the closest whole number again if it is a fraction.

4. Subtract the second measurement from the first measurement. This will be the cup size. Usually, each inch of difference equals one cup letter. For example, an end result of 3 inches would be about a cup size C.
