How to Make Seashell Christmas Ornaments
Seashells are like snowflakes. Each is different, and they can make beautiful one-of-a-kind ornaments. Buy seashells from craft stores or pick up some from the beach. They come in a variety of colors: mostly tans, whites and browns, but some have a hint of purple and blue. With some ribbon, glue and a little patience, you can transform seashells into hanging ornaments for your tree or as gifts. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Scallop shell
- White glue
- Glitter
- Bowl
- Small paintbrush
- Assorted small seashells
- Drill with small drill bit
- White or ivory craft netting
- Red or green ribbon
- Scissors

Wash out a scallop shell with lukewarm water and dish soap. Let it dry.

Drill a small hole in the top of the shell.

Cut about 4 inches of ribbon and thread it through the shell. Tie the ends together in a double knot to make a loop.

Mix a small amount of white glue and glitter together. Mix with a small paintbrush. Paint the glitter glue over both sides of the shell and hang by the loop to dry.

Wash the small shells with lukewarm water and soap. Let dry.

Cut a piece of netting into a 4-by-4-inch square.

Set a small handful of shells in the middle of the netting.

Cut a piece of ribbon about 10 inches long.

Gather the ends of the netting together and twist. Tie the ribbon tightly around the twist and double knot. Tie a bow.
