Instructions

    • 1

Take the seeds and scatter them across a growing tray filled with perlite growing mix or vermiculite. The seeds will blow away easily, so use caution when placing them in the soil. Cover with a thin layer of the same growing soil. Water until moist.

    • 2

Place the growing tray on a heating pad in a warm, sunny spot. Set the heating pad to 85 degrees. Allow the seeds to germinate for one week to three weeks, watering every three days. If some seeds are not sprouted at the end of three weeks, they should be discarded.

    • 3

Move the seedlings into small peat pots filled with 1/2 vermiculite and 1/2 potting soil. Place in an area that receives full sun. At this point, water the plants from below only. Do not pour water directly onto the plant stems. Just water the dirt around the plants. Do not over water the plants. The desert rose need to be well drained at all times.

    • 4

Take the desert rose plants outdoors during late spring. Plant in large pots or directly into flower beds. Ensure the beds receive full sun and that the dirt has excellent drainage.
