How to Make a Green Bean Cheese Casserole

  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 3 9-ounce packages of frozen French cut green beans, thawed and drained
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup melted or soft cheese
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 package (2.8 ounces) French-fried onions

      Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

      Lightly spray the inside of a deep casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.

      Mix all ingredients but half of the onions in the casserole dish.

      Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until edges are brown. Add the rest of the fried onions to the top of the dish, and bake for an additional 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a crunchier casserole, add walnuts, red bell pepper or bacon bits.

  • For a creamier casserole, substitute 1 cup Alfredo sauce for the fried onions.
