How to Create Animation Comic Books
Comic books are as popular today as they have ever been. This is in no small part due to the large number of live-action and animated movies based on comic books that have been produced in recent years. There is a synergy between animated movies and comics, with the two feeding off each other. In fact, using 3D animation software such as the freeware program Daz Studio and a good graphics program such as Photoshop, it is quite possible to create your own comic books.

1
Go to Daz 3D to download and install Daz Studio. While you are there, you can purchase and download any figures, scenes, clothing, buildings or other props you might need for your comics. You might also want to check out the free area at Renderosity to see if there is anything there you can use. Install all of this content to Daz Studio.

2
Open Daz Studio. Browse through the library folders on the left to find the figure or figures you want to use, dragging them into the scene. Then drag any clothing or hair props onto the figure you want to apply it to. Do the same to bring in buildings or furniture, positioning them where you want in the scene.

3
Go to the power pose controls on the right and use them to position the figures where you want them in the scene. Now click on the "Render" tab and select the image quality and size you want. Then click "Render" and save the resulting image as "Panel 1." Reposition the figures for the next panel in the comic book and render it. Keep doing this, while changing scenes and figures where necessary, until you have rendered all the panels for your comic book.
-
4
Open Photoshop. Select "File" and click "New." In the dialog that opens, make the height and width in pixels whatever size you plan to print your comic book. Make the resolution 200 dpi, unless you plan to only put your comic book online, in which case you can make it 72. Click "OK."
-
5
Go to the "Layers" panel on the right and click on the "New Layer" icon. Change the foreground color in the toolbar to whatever color you want the borders of your comic to be. Select the "Paint Bucket" tool and fill the canvas with the color.
-
6
Select "File" and click "Open." Browse to the first rendered image and open it. Select "Edit" and then "Copy." Go back to the comic book document. Select "Edit" and click "Paste." Keep doing this to bring in all the images for that page of the comic book.
-
7
Select the "Custom Shape" tool. In the presets at the top, select one of the comic speech balloons. Draw it where you want it, and then use the "Text" tool to add words to the balloon. Repeat steps 4-7 to make all the pages of your comic book.
