2. Contact the provider to start the application process. You will typically need to sign an agreement between you and the provider.

3. Provide any information that the provider requests. Typically, they want things such as a brief summary on what your 900 number will be used for, the fees that will be charged, and a sample script that callers will hear when they call your number.

• According to U.S Federal Law, all 900 numbers must include an 18-second preamble. This preamble, according to Advanced Telecom Services, must include the "cost of the call; description of the service; program sponsor; age disclaimer; a discernable tone when charges begin."
