How to Get Rid of Suds in a Dish Washer

1
As soon as you realize a mistake has been made, stop the wash cycle and drain the machine. Remove dishes. Sprinkle the bubbles with a generous handful of table salt. Salt will help break down the suds and make them easier to wipe up. If you have a large quantity of crushed or cubed ice on hand, place ice into the tub of the dishwasher. The ice will cool the water and further dissolve the soap bubbles.

Wipe up as much of the excess liquid and bubbles as you can with some absorbent towels.

Run the rinse cycle on your dishwasher. When the rinse is complete you will probably have more bubbles. Repeat the salt/ice/towel/rinse method until the water in your dishwasher is clean.

An alternate method to remove suds from your dishwasher is to apply a few drops of spa defoamer into the tub of your washer. The defoamer will disperse the bubbles almost immediately. Run the rinse cycle and repeat as necessary.

A third method is to add a capful of liquid fabric softener. In this case, run the rinse cycle for no more than thirty seconds and drain. Repeat if needed.
