1
Combine one part borax to one part white cornmeal in a mixing bowl. This combination creates a drying solution known as a "desiccant," which safely dries your flowers and leaves without distorting or discoloring them.
-
2
Pour about an inch of the desiccant mixture into a container that is large enough to fit your flowers and leaves.
-
-
3
Arrange the blossoms and foliage on top of the drying solution and make sure that they do not touch each other. Any flat-face flowers such as daisies must be positioned face down to retain the shape.
-
4
Pour the remaining desiccant around and on top of the flowers and leaves taking care not to move the natural arrangements of the plants.
-
5
Cover the container with a lid and allow the flowers and leaves to sit for one to three weeks. Periodically check the arrangement's status during this time period and remove it when it becomes firm to the touch and has no more moisture.
