Turn your whole sweet potatoes into healthy fries.

Everyone likes french fries, but they tend to be lacking in nutrition and fattening. Sweet potatoes, on the other hand, are loaded with vitamin A -- so much so that you would have to consume 16 cups of broccoli to get the same amount of vitamin A contained in a cup of diced sweet potatoes. They're also loaded with vitamin E, B vitamins and fiber. Bake some sweet potato fries in the oven for a healthy alternative to regular fries. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 lb. sweet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • Bowl
  • Baking sheet

Instructions

      Collect all of the ingredients you need to make potato fries. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

      Peel and julienne the sweet potatoes. Place them in a large bowl. Then drizzle olive oil and the salt of your choice all over your freshly cut sweet potatoes. Add some pepper to your taste.

      Toss them around in the large mixing bowl to make sure that they are fully coated. Place all of the potato fries on an ungreased cookie sheet.

      Bake your potato fries for about 35 minutes total. After 15 minutes, check on them and flip them for the perfect crispy taste.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add other flavors to your fries, such as minced garlic and cumin.

  • Don't let them burn!
