Although everybody has varied musical tastes, it is probably safe to say that music plays a big role in our lives. However, sometimes we listen so much to a certain album or artist that we tire of them for a little bit of time. Here are some tips to find new music to keep your ears happy.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Talk to friends. Most people probably have one or two friends who tend to love artists who are under the radar. Talk to them and they may give you advice on a few artists that you may not have heard of, but end up liking a lot.

  2. Step 2

Use websites and services like Pandora and LastFM. These services will track your likes and dislikes and will recommend you different artists that fit your style of music.

  3. Step 3

Check out the websites and blogs of your favorite artists every so often. Sometimes they will link to other musician friends or may mention what they are currently listening to.

  4. Step 4

Watch TV. There are a few shows that are known to showcase emerging artists. Some of these include Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, and Scrubs.

  5. Step 5

Look around on Youtube. You may find some interesting videos and artists there!

  6. Step 6

Go to concerts. Many times, an opening act will not be well-known. However, they may just rock your socks off and you may find yourself liking a new band or artist.

  7. Step 7

Check out iTunes. They have a Free Single of the Week where they showcase a different upcoming artist each week. It's free and sometimes you will find an artist before they make it big (for instance, Sara Bareilles).
