-
Step 1
Fill the blender. Pour in a cup of oats and then fill the remaining space in the blender with good drinking water, leaving about an inch and a half to two inches at the top so the oat milk mixture won’t escape during the blending process.
-
Step 2
Blend. Make sure the lid is on tight and blend on high for at least 60 seconds to make oat milk from the water and oats (count slowly or use a clock).
-
Step 3
Strain. Use a fine sieve to strain the smooth oat milk from the lumps that are left, using a wooden spoon to press down on the mixture in the sieve to extract more liquid.
-
Step 4
Flavor or scent if desired. Oat milk is good on its own. But some commercial oat milk brands offer various flavors and you may want to add a few drops of flavoring to taste to your own. Once you have your smooth oat milk liquid, you can mix in natural culinary chocolate flavoring, vanilla, almond or orange flavoring. If using this oat milk as a bath ingredient, lavender essential oil makes a wonderful combination with bath oat milk.
