Every holiday season parents crowd into portrait studios hoping to get that perfect shot of their darling children. Here are a few tips to ensure your efforts produce a winning shot!

Things You'll Need:

  • patience
  1. Step 1

The first thing you want to do is decide if you'd like to shoot the pics yourself or leave it to the pros. A good digital camera can make a pro out of any amateur parent and you'll have more frames to choose from this way so if you're up to, give it a go.

  2. Step 2

The next step is to figure out what will be worn in the photographs. It is becoming more and more common for children to change into multiple outfits in one photo session. If there will be multiple children being photographed, be sure to coordinate by color. Neutrals always work well as does black, navy, and grey. You can always add splashes of color with cute accessories (ties, hair bows, jewelry, etc.)!

  3. Step 3

Last, but certainly not least, be sure to prepare your child/children for the photo shoot. This means ensuring that children are both fed and well rested. A tired and hungry child will not cooperate, period.
