How to Copy Playstation Games to Your Computer

Anyone who has a large collection of PlayStation games will want to keep those games protected. While it may not protect the disc, the game data can be backed up on your PC. You will require some third-party software, and the backups are never 100% guaranteed to work when burned onto other discs, but getting the info on your PC is not an impossible task.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

  1. Copying PlayStation Files to PC

    • 1

Insert a PlayStation game disk into your PC's CD Drive.

    • 2

Open Alcohol 120% and select "Copy Wizard" from the left side of the menu.

    • 3

Select your disk drive--CD ROM is usually the "D" drive--and click "Next".

    • 4

Choose the location on your hard drive where you want to save your backed-up file. Also, select the image format to save the file in.

    • 5

Set your disk recorder options. Once you have everything set to your personal preferences, click "Start" to begin the process of backing up your PlayStation game.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you intend to burn this backup file to a CD at a later time, save your backup as an ISO file.

  • To ensure a clean backup, set the copy rate to it's lowest speed.

  • Do not interrupt the backup process by either closing Alcohol 120% or turning off your computer. Doing so will corrupt the file and force you to begin anew.
