Things You'll Need:
- Eyes
-
Step 1
Astigmatism doesn't affect how well a person can see near or far although it can be compounded with near or far sightedness. If you are having difficulties seeing at any distance this is one of the symptoms of Astigmatism.
-
Step 2
Objects may have a fuzzy shadow on one side or the other. Because the light is being refracted on one side more than the other you get a kind of double or even multiple vision effect. You begin to notice yourself adjusting to compensate for that fuzzy shadow whenever you have to focus on anything.
-
Step 3
Fatigue, headache and eye strain often begin to increase once the condition needs to be treated.
-
Step 4
If you are having these conditions you probably need to make a visit to your optometrist or eye doctor. There is almost surely something available to correct your astigmatism even if it's severe.

on 11/24/2009 Good article. Everyone needs a yearly appt. with the opthomologist, to detect signs of astigmatism, and check for other issues. I have it, and it causes me to need sunglasses most of the time. 5* :)
