Step 1
You'll need:
4 fresh pears
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
6 tablespoons finely chopped nuts
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon milk
Chocolate sauce, recipe included -
Step 2
Core pearsCore pears from the bottom, leaving stems intact.

Peel pearsPeel the pears. Slice a piece off the bottom to make a flat base.

Soak pearsCombine sugar and water in a medium saucepan; add pears. Cover and simmer over low heat 10 to 20 minutes, depending on ripeness of the pears, or until pears are soft. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Cool pears in syrup; chill.

Combine nuts and confectioners' sugar and teaspoon of milk in a small bowl. To serve drain pears; spoon nut mixture into cavities. Place on dessert plates. Pour or spoon chocolate sauce onto each pear.

Chocolate SauceChocolate Sauce
6 tablespoons water
6 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup butter
1-1/3 cup Hershey's Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips
Combine water, sugar, and butter in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate chips. Stir until melted. Cool.
