Step 1
Vitamin D. It prevents breast cancer, prevents heart disease and builds strong bones. Most people don't get enough vitamin D, in-fact it's 4 out of 5 people, this is bad news. Research studies urge people to take at least 1,000 units of vitamin D every day. Also milk, cereals and Orange Juice are other sources. If you are taking a multi vitamin, you may be getting some but perhaps not the ample amount so adjust accordingly.
-
Step 2
Avoid sweets fatty foods and alcoholic drinks. Try not to gain over holidays, it will be more difficult to lose weight in the winter than it would be for summer. Drink water and stick to whole grains.
-
Step 3
Exercise. Even if you can't get outside, pop in a video and get to work. Just get moving even if it's 30 minutes a day. Take walks, even in cold weather it is imperative. Bundle up and hit the pavement.
-
Step 4
Shoveling snow and heart attacks. real or myth? It's real and very dangerous and deadly. Did you know in 30 minutes of shoveling you burn 200 calories? This is how fast the heart beats and how much blood is circulating during this process. Most people shovel cars out and their walk ways after all the snow has fell and piled up making it an dangerous task to say the least. Prevent getting a heart attack, feeling dizzy and feeling out of breath by shoveling when snow it light on the ground, when you are hydrated, when you have eaten and take breaks.
