Do you have a KIA Sedona that needs new brake pads? If you said yes then please be aware that the brake shops will charge you around 149 dollars and the dealerships will charge you around 195 dollars to change the brakes on this car. There is good news though and that is that you can change the brake pads on your KIA Sedona yourself and save some money in the process. If you choose to do it yourself the brake pads and lube will only cost you 23 dollars at your local Auto Zone. If you are ready to try to save some cash and fix your own car then keep reading as this Ehow article will tell you how to change your KIA Sedonas brake pads.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Jack
  • Jack Stands
  • Lug Wrench
  • 14MM Socket
  • Socket Wrench
  • Brake Pads
  • Brake Lube
  • Flat Head Screw Driver
  • C-Clamp
  1. Step 1

Loosen the lugs on your KIA Sedona using the lug wrench.

  2. Step 2

Jack up car and put it on jack stands.

  3. Step 3

Take off the wheels and set them aside.

  4. Step 4

Now use the 14mm socket and remove the lower bolt on your brake calipers. This will allow the calipers to swing up and give you access to the pads.

  5. Step 5

Use your flat head screw driver to pop the brake pads out.

  6. Step 6

Use c-clamp to compress the pistons on back of calipers. When doing this place the old pad over the pistons and compress it with the c-clamp until the piston is flush.

  7. Step 7

Apply brake lube to the new brake pads. Apply it only on the back and not on the part that will come in contact with the rotors

  8. Step 8

Put on the new brake pads.

  9. Step 9

Bolt the caliper back up, put the wheels on and lower the car back down. At this point all that's left to do is to get in the car and pump the brakes for a few minutes. Job done in less than 1 hour and 120 to 180 dollars saved.
