Things You'll Need:
- Drum sander
- Hand sander
- 60-grit sandpaper
- 120-grit sandpaper
- Wood stain
- Polyurethane
- Cloth
- Vacuum
- Brush

Step 1
Clear the area around the teak floors. Move any furniture, paintings, photos and curtains to make sure that they won't get damaged by your work.

Clean the teak floors. Vacuum the floor to remove any dust and dirt.

Sand the teak floors with the drum sander and 60-grit sandpaper. Sand across the teak floors, going along the grain. Move from one end of the floor to the other, overlapping the previously sanded area by approximately an inch.

Step 4
Sand the edges of the teak floors with a hand sander and 60-grit sandpaper. Remove all of the original finish.

Step 5
Vacuum the teak floor again to clear it of sawdust.

Step 6
Re-sand the entire teak floor with the drum sander and 120-grit sandpaper. Next, re-sand the edges with the hand sander and 120-grit sandpaper. This will create a smooth surface for applying the new finish.

Step 7
Vacuum the teak floors again to clear it of sawdust.

Step 8
Brush a coat of stain onto the whole surface of the teak floor. Wipe away excess stain with a clean cloth. Apply additional coats of stain to the floor if you want to give the wood a darker finish. Allow the stain to dry completely.

Step 9
Apply a thin coat of polyurethane to the entire teak floor. Polyurethane seals the teak floor's new finish and protects it from dirt and moisture.
