Instructions

  1. Fresh Plums and Dessert

    • 1

Select a plum tree berry from the tree. The unripe green berries will be the most tart, yellow berries will be sweeter, and the ripe, darker red berries will be extra sweet. Wash the fruit. Washing the plums will ensure that they are clean and free of harmful pesticides. Eat the fresh plum tree berry.

    • 2

Add the plum berries as a garnish to desserts. Remove the pits from the plum before adding them to your dessert.

    • 3

Place the pitted plums face down on a baking sheet to make the garnish warmer and sweeter. Lightly sprinkle the plums with sugar. Roast the plums for 20 minutes in an oven that has been preheated to 450 degrees F.

    • 4

Scrape the sugared plums off of the baking sheet, and add them as a garnish to ice cream, cheesecake, pound cake or pie.

    Salad Garnish

    • 5

Slice the plums in half with a knife.

    • 6

Use the knife to scoop out the pit from the center of the plums.

    • 7

Garnish your salad by sprinkling the plums on top of a bed of lettuce. This will add sweetness to your salad.
