Making salad in a wheelbarrow is an exciting and quirky way to entertain and feed guests at your next crazy themed party. Whether you're throwing an outdoor barbecue for a lot of guests or you're wanting to make an impression with a hilarious gag, making a wheelbarrow salad is simple.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 15 lbs. romaine lettuce
  • 5 lbs. cherry tomatoes
  • 4 red onions, sliced
  • 3 lbs. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 lbs. fresh white mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 lbs. bell peppers
  • Ranch dressing (1 gallon)
  • Croutons (3 lbs.)
  • Medium-size wheelbarrow (plastic, unused)
  • Salad tongs
  1. Step 1

    Purchase a plastic wheelbarrow and disinfect it carefully before using it.

  2. Step 2

    Chop the romaine lettuce and put it in the wheelbarrow.

  3. Step 3

    Throw the cherry tomatoes into the wheelbarrow with the lettuce. They do not need to be peeled or sliced.

  4. Step 4

    Add the sliced onion, bell peppers and mushrooms to the salad.

  5. Step 5

    Pour the gallon of ranch dressing on top of it, and add the shredded cheddar cheese.

  6. Step 6

    Toss the salad thoroughly using the salad tongs and top with croutons.

  7. Step 7

    Push the wheelbarrow of salad out to your guests and watch their faces light up with amusement.

Tips & Warnings
  • Experiment with different fresh herbs and vegetables to create your own signature salad.
  • Never use a wheelbarrow that has been used for anything other than food preparation.
